Deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains, two mothers fight over scraps of food for themselves and their children. They are the few remaining members of a wagon party headed to the American West. Trapped in desolate snowy terrain for months, they must decide what they're willing to do, what they're willing to sacrifice, and who they're willing to become in order to survive.
